Shawn Lee of SHAWN LEE STUDIOS recognized for helping to advance the photography industry
DETROIT, MI—Shawn Lee of SHAWN LEE STUDIOS in Southfield, MI has earned the Photographic Craftsman degree from Professional Photographers of America (PPA). The degree was presented to Lee by PPA president Stephen Thetford, M.Photog.Cr., CPP, at the association’s annual convention, Imaging USA, held January 20-22, 2019, in Atlanta, Georgia.
This degree is not merely a piece of paper. It means that Lee has met the standards of excellence set by PPA. He has been awarded the Photographic Craftsman degree in recognition of his service to the photographic profession as an orator, author and mentor. In 2019, he was one of only 73 recipients.
Lee’s degree—and all the expertise it requires—illustrates his accomplishments and talent as one of a select few.
Lee is the diversity lead for the Professional Photographers of America(PPA) and is the CEO/President of PPA's newest national affiliate called the Multicultural Association of Professional Photographers(MAPP). He is the founder of the ROCK THAT Photography Conference & Tradeshow which hosts 500 photographers from around the country for 3 days of high level instruction in metro Detroit with a concentration on providing excellence and diversity in the photography industry.
Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the largest and longest-standing nonprofit photography trade association with a 150-year history. It currently helps 30,000+ pros elevate their craft and grow their business with resources, protection, and education, all under PPA’s core guiding principle of bridging the gap between photographers and consumers.
